Welcome to Salafi ("we," "our," "us"), an application developed by Muaz Bin Imran. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

This App is provided completely free of charge, with no advertisements or in-app purchases. Our goal is to provide a valuable resource for the community without commercial interests.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

We collect a limited amount of information to provide and improve the functionality of the App. We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it.

1. Location Data (Optional)

Why we need it:

  • Prayer Times: To calculate accurate Salat (prayer) times, including Sehri, Tahajjud, and sunrise for your specific location.
  • Qibla Compass: To determine the correct direction of the Qibla (Kaaba in Makkah) from your location.

How we collect it:

  • Method 1 (Automatic): With your explicit permission (LOCATION PERMISSION), the App can use your device's NETWORK PROVIDER AND GPS to get your precise latitude and longitude.
  • Method 2 (Manual): You can manually select your country and city from a pre-populated list within the App. This method does not require location permission.

Third-Party Service: For prayer time calculations, your location data (latitude and longitude) is shared with the AlAdhan.com API.

2. Automatically Collected Information (Non-Personal)

We use Firebase services to enhance app functionality and understand usage patterns. This includes:

  • Firebase Analytics: To understand which features of the App are most used, to identify crashes, and to improve user experience. This service collects anonymous data such as device type, operating system version, and general usage statistics. It does not collect personal information.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging & In-App Messaging: To send you important notices, reminders, and updates. This requires a unique, anonymous token generated for your device.

3. Information You Do Not Provide

The App DOES NOT collect, store, or transmit any of the following personal information:

  • Your name, email address, or phone number.
  • Your contacts, photos, or personal files.
  • Any financial or payment information.

Feature-Specific Data Handling

Quran, Hadith, Library, and Mas'ala (Q&A): Content may be downloaded from our server (muazbinimran.top) to your device for offline access.

Audio Quran: The App streams Quran recitations from public third-party APIs. Background audio playback requires foreground service permissions.

Videos & Makkah/Madina Live: Islamic video content is displayed using the YouTube Embedded Player.

Donations (Sadaqaye Jariyah): The donation section does not process any payments. It only displays information.

Nearby Mosque: This feature uses an intent to open your device's default Maps application.

Data Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. While no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we use commercially acceptable means to protect your data.
